Inauguration of the new plant location in Pluederhausen and 60th Anniversary 60 Years of Frech - A Swabian success story.
Approximately 1,200 invited guests including employees, retired employees, representatives from global business associates and economic organisations as well as political dignitaries joined together to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Frech company and the formal opening of the new facility in Pluederhausen. Over 100 customers from 12 nations attended a special customer presentation early on the Saturday morning where an informative mix of speeches, product presentations and guided tours were arranged for them. They were also brought up to date about the changes within Frech since the taking over of the die casting business of Mueller Weingarten AG. The formal opening of the location in Pluederhausen was accompanied by greetings clarifying the importance of the company to the region and the die casting market. In his speech Wolfgang Frech looked back on 60 years of successful company history which started in the cellar of his parents’ house in March 1949. The Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg Günther Oettinger talked about a “track record of Swabian entrepreneurial spirit” and named Oskar Frech in the same breath as Gottlieb Daimler. He continued by saying that the basis of this success can be attributed to the type of enterprise – an international aligned family-owned enterprise with shareholders who stand behind the company and their employees by the reinvestment of profits. Under the slogan “Welcome to the World of Die Casting”, hot and cold chamber die casting machines with various locking forces between 200 – 52,000 kN were available for viewing. Most impressive to the visitors was undoubtedly the cold chamber die casting machine type GDK 4100 with a locking force of 44,000 kN, which was shortly to be delivered to a well known automobile manufacturer and was confirmation of the engineering expertise within Frech at the new facility. Furthermore customers used the opportunity to obtain information about the Frech range of peripheral equipment including heating-cooling units, magnesium dosing furnaces, zinc melting furnaces, extraction robots and dosing units as well as die casting and trim tools. Especially for the families of the employees and the visitors from other industries, die casting parts were sorted into a selection of recognisable commodities. They were then displayed alongside particular machines so that an impression could be gained of the various sectors in which die castings are used. In this regard it soon became clear that virtually every third person owned or used a device in which parts produced on Frech machines are embedded! 60 years of company history offered the possibility to look back proudly but also offered the chance to look ahead bravely at the future challenge. A festive spirit was enjoyed by all and emphasized by the delegates celebrating together with Frech as Swabian delicacies were served and accompanied by local musical entertainment. The 60th anniversary celebration was certainly a day to remember and music filled the beautifully decorated new production hall well in to the night.
